For this game the necessary equipment consists of a star-shaped board and nine pieces. Two or more players play Tara usually young boys, school going girls also play this game. The board is drawn on the floor with charcoal.

- One player places all of his pieces on the board, one after another. Once he finishes the other player starts placing his pieces. One player plays at a time. Any corner of the star can be the starting point. A player places his first piece on one corner. Counting from this junction to a third junction is the place where he places the second piece. Subsequently following the same counting pattern he places all nine pieces on the board. Once he has successfully placed all nine pieces without hindrance it is considered that he has achieved a fifty per cent win. The placing of pieces takes place in a clockwise direction
